Sharing: A year of God’s love, his goodness and his faithfulness
” Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail”. – Lamentations 3:22
Let me express, from the bottom of my heart how grateful I am for all that Jesus has done in for me…
1. He died and He suffered for my sins.
Have you watched the “Passion of the Christ”? What have you felt then? Me? Everytime I watch this movie, I am being reminded how sinful and filthy I am in the eyes of God. Especially when I see the part wherein he is being beaten and you can see that the metal plants within the flesh of His body. If there is one thing that I am truly grateful of is that I know that Jesus loves me so much that he bore the cross of Calvary just to save me from my sins. It’s not that I have a lot of accomplishments in the ministry, not that I have a position, not that I am being known for being a leader, worship leader, etc! these things are nothing to me except from the beautiful grace of God that is so overwhelming in my life. And you know what? Everytime I seek God’s presence I just can’t help but to cry and feel the wonder of His love because I know, deep within my heart that even though I’m a sinner, He loves me and He cares for me more than anyone and anything in this world.
2. God’s Love and Protection
God’s love is so amazing. Believe it or not, I almost gave up and wanted to end my life because there were a lot of hurt, suffering and distress within me. Soon enough, I will tell you the main reason why but for now I just wanna thank God for extending His love to me. If God has a plan for you, he will continually preserve and restore you no matter how many times you fail. He will even use people just for us to realize that He loves us so much na ayaw niya tayong mapahamak. He also protects us from any danger of Satan and of this world. Sadly, we are just the ones who remove God’s hand and protection in our lives. I remember the song “Everytime” by Darlene Zschech and Mirriam Webster of Hillsong Church. That song explains how great God is and God’s love extends over to those who seek his presence. Let me share you the lyrics;
JESUS, I LOVE YOU
I NEED YOU MY SAVIOUR
JESUS YOU LOVE IT, HAS HEALED ME, OPENED MY HEART
JESUS, I THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU’VE GIVEN
JESUS, I STAND HERE AMAZED AT FORGIVENESS
EVERYTIME, I CLOSE MY EYES
I’M FILLED WITH AWE AT ALL YOU’VE DONE
EVERYTIME, I THINK OF YOU
I’M GRATEFUL FOR YOUR LOVE
O’ LORD HERE I AM
RAISE MY HANDS, I SURRENDER
O’ LORD HERE I AM
AT YOUR THRONE SWEET ABANDON…
3. The Joy of the Lord is my strength (Nehemiah 8:10)
Secular people believes in their self-confidence. But me? I only have Godly confidence. I may have a little self-confidence but I depend on God at all times. When I had my interview at the House of Gold here in Clark, IQOR, Sutherland, many more! I just let God give me strength to pass those interviews and test and I just did with God’s hand. I thank God for giving me strength everyday, especially when I’m all drained out. I thank God because although I wanted to give up and end my life, He made a way to sustain me. It really feels good when you know that whenever you’re weak, God is always strong. That whenever we fail, He succeeds. And whenever we lose, He always has the victory. He gave me all the reasons to survive and move on. How great our God is! ^^
4. He gave me a lot of chances to start a new beginning
I left the church and the ministry a lot of times because of certain reasons. And I know that whatever those reasons were, they are not valid enough from turning away from God. I was so immature that I hurt God’s heart so much. And now, I thank Him for giving me the opportunity to serve Him once more even though I had a lot of failures and flaws. I know in God’s perfect time, He will again use me and I know that he is just preparing me for the greater glory that I will experience along the way. “God wants to teach me something first”. I know that even though I was a leader, He’s was not smiling at me at all simply because my life was unbalanced and all messed up. God is a God of second chances. His promises will endure and His love will never fail.
5. He gave me a job to sustain the needs of my family
I thank God for giving me the opportunity to work so that I could help my family in terms of financial aspects. Although my dad is out of the country, his income is still not enough to meet our needs, especially my brother is already in highschool in HAU so we have to find ways to increase our income and over up our expenses. So I really thank God for this blessing and I appreciate the fact that although I have neglected a lot of things, his blessings still overflow in my life.
6. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to know Him, love Him and to serve Him even though I’m not worthy of it.
Who have you found worthy of serving God? No one. We are all unworthy. But because fo God’s great love through Jesus Christ, we were given the opportunity to experience God’s grace and mercy. I am very grateful that I experience God’s great love and goodness in my life. Although I am nothing but a trash and a garbage to His sight, Jesus loved me and gave me the wonderful chance to serve Him at all times.
7. He gave me a wonderful life and he healed my wounded and broken heart
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” – Ps. 147:3
I got hurt, I suffered, I fell and wounded my heart and my spirit. But in Ps. 147:3 Jesus promised that he would definitely heal them all. There is no one, no other love that would fill the emptiness and the loneliness in my heart but Jesus Christ. How amazing and it’s very refreshing to think that the most powerful love in this world is in us and has chosen to heal our hearts and restore our minds.
I long to be an Extravagant Worshipper…that God would discover the song in my heart to be elaborate,
over-generous and wasteful in my pursuit of Him.
This is the journey I have devoted my life to…
